While many might assume it’s just a temporary screen protector, Nintendo clarified that this pre-installed layer is permanent and designed to prevent shattered glass from scattering in case of damage. Yes, you can still apply a third-party screen protector on top of the built-in film. Nintendo has not advised against this. However, removing the film may void warranties or weaken the screen’s structure.
